DIY intake

No big deal i just figured i'll share. next week i should have a heat shield for it and i want to set up a video soon. once i can open my windows after the tints settle.

Well it looks sweet so far and its cheap. I dont understand why all the big companies take a filter and a pipe and bam its $250!!!! And it does the same exact thing. I could fake some dyno graphs and market it right and sell it. LOL.

I'll be honest even if it doesnt make anymore power than the stock airbox and a K&N filter i just want to know if it makes the turbo make the whistling sound that most of us are after? I know thats kinda ricey but this is my first turbo vehicle and i just want to hear the turbo spooling up. LOL.

I wonder if taking the engine cover off would let you hear the engine better? I wonder what it looks like with it off and how difficult it is to remove the cover.

Oh it does!!!! but the stuff and try it out. most bigger name car parts stores will have a decent return policy

Its super easy to take off, just pull upwards but it really makes no difference. it may even make the pinging noise louder

Actually i linked that off of hyundai-forums.com. I will do it (diy intake) this weekend. I'm taking my wife to get lasik done saturday so i'm gonna be busy then. I'll keep you posted.
