Strut Tower Brace

Post by Tundra Dweller on 11/16/2010, 7:53 am

I've seen these in other FWD cars. Would it have a anti-sway effect? Not sure if this would fit over the additional Turbo plumbing though.

It does help allot!!!

It keeps the front suspension from coming in-words and flexing. When you turn your wheel the front suspension flexes and you start to lose some of the tire contact on the road. The strut brace helps keep the flexing down and more tire contact on the ground. They are really important for the FWD cars....it helped my skyline from eating tires.

Get a really good one, that’s made out of steel tubing and has allot of welds..It should cost around 200 to 300 bux.. hears my wifes and it doesnt fit the turbo

Are u 100% sure that doesn't fit ... I had that one from my 2.4 and I've not installed it on the turbo yet but I've set it on the bolts and it looks like there is clearance to me.

Too cold here to piss with it right now though.

Mine doesnt fit!!!!

It hits the charge pipe on the turbo inlet .. it needs to have a higher bend to it.

Mine is the luxon brand. Im having a machine shop modding mine.

Luxon Strut Tower Brace for $230 looks solid.

Will it fit on a YF turbo?

If you buy from Korean Auto Imports and it doesn't fit properly your screwed. They will deny and problem with fit and will want a 20%
restocking free plus you pay for the return. Play it safe and buy from someone else.................

Yes strut bars do aid the handling of your car.

This one fits Turbo

I installed a brace from Korean Auto Imports, p/n SNT11A101, and it fits like a glove. Very easy installation. Excellent improvment when driving the "twistys". I would recommend this to any turbo driver who likes to play.

Luxon makes chassis bracing for the Sonata, we just don't carry it yet.

To bring this thread back from the dead. I have the Luxon solid brace from shark racing on my 2.0. now.

Question on strut tower brace that is bolted to the car frame in the center like in the photo.

wwwnetcarshow.com/mitsubishi/2004-lancer_ralliart/800x600/wallpaper_1c.htm

Is there any benefit to have the brace bolted down like that in the photo? Does it provide more rigidity to the chasis and/or reduce flexing during cornering?
